PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

The DFIS program was created through a partnership between Digital Frontiers Institute, Toronto Centre and the Consultative Group for the Poor (CGAP) to provide a practical and comprehensive learning experience to facilitate the building of a framework for effective supervision of current and emerging risks to promote digital financial inclusion.

This course aims to equip regulators and supervisors with the skills to answer these questions:

  • How can DFS supervisory functions effectively, in a proportionate manner, based on the size, scope and risk profile of the financial services provider (FSP) be carried out in an inclusive manner?
  • How are financial stability and soundness issues, but also authorizations (licensing), financial inclusion, distribution, innovation (product and delivery), integrity, and consumer protection considered for inclusive DFS supervision?
  • How can the gender and financial inclusion lens be considered for inclusive DFS supervision?

This is a 4-week online course made up of four modules of training which is offered in the DFI Campus environment. This is a time-specific course and the application deadline is May 1, 2022.
