On June 3rd, Toronto Centre hosted an executive panel on "Decoding Fintech and Capturing the Opportunities for Financial Inclusion and Gender Equality" at the Women Deliver 2019 Conference held in Vancouver, Canada. The panel discussed how private enterprise and investors can work with the public sector to ensure that targeted investment aims to match financial inclusion outcomes. More specifically, the panel examined:
· As the Fintech wave spreads across the emerging markets globally - what will the future of financial services look like? And what do we already know about how the new models will reduce financial exclusion and gender inequality?
· How do we help ensure that these new models can be more evenly deployed for maximum impact for women and girls in the years to come?
· What role can innovators play in helping regulators re-think regulation without compromising customer safety, market integrity and financial stability?
